Dulux Colour of the Year 2018: Heart Wood

Dulux have announced their colour of the year for 2018: Heart Wood.
This is a tranquil yet contemporary shade, and is a lovely transition into the new year after the annoucement of Denim Drift as their colour of the year back in 2017.

Some of our inspiration includes pairing the dusky wall colour with pops of colour within the space, whether you accessorise with ornaments or choose to have an entire sofa in a shade that really stands out. Harmonising with accents of white, black or metallic, Heart Wood is one size that fits all!

Dulux have projected that their colour palettes is reflective of the outside world, more importantly focusing on cultural climate changes this year. The tone is said to bring a sense of serenity into homes all around, this musky taupe with a hint of lavender is sure to make you feel at ease, press pause and unwind. For any trend palettes ahead this year, Heart Wood will act as the perfect canvas and at Camerich we have some suggestions of our own.

No doubt if you are looking reinvent the same look at your own space, it’s worthwhile taking inspiration from our brilliantly designed showrooms, our palette includes our popular Grey Oak and Brown Walnut Woods, Carrera Marble and our wonderful succulents provided by Aflorum! On the left we have a lovely example of how the colour of the year can be paired with delicate plants around the space, the idea is to keep things simple and minimal for the most impact.

Mixing different shades of pink can add a new dynamic to the space, if you are looking to keep in theme of muted pink tones. Below we’ve compiled some of our bright fabrics, combined with greys against the wall to show the true versatility of the paint and also our products here at Camerich.

Using our Lazy Time Sofa which comes in the stock Fabric GRANITE, the sofa proves to be perfect marriage with hearty wood. Paired with our Flex Side Tables with the slender brushed steel frame for further depth. We’ve also introduced leather on the Eddy Lounge Chair as well as the Era Coffee tables to demonstrate that an array of different finishes is not so bad!

Our new selection of fabrics is perfect for just the right pop of colour, which can be used on the sofas and cushions, dining chairs, beds and lounge chairs. With our removeable covers option on our sofas, you are never bound to the fabric either, we have the option to purchase and extra set of covers in a new colour, allowing you to change up the look whenever you please.
